How Reading Habits Improve Student Performance

Reading is one of the strongest habits a student can develop. Children who read regularly improve their vocabulary, grammar, imagination, writing skills, concentration, and general knowledge.

In the UAE, students study in a competitive and multicultural environment. Strong reading habits help them communicate better and understand subjects more clearly. Reading also improves confidence in speaking and writing.

Parents can encourage reading by setting a daily reading time at home. Even 20 minutes of reading every day can make a major difference. Schools can support this through library periods, storytelling, book reviews, reading challenges, and classroom discussions.

Reading should not be treated as a punishment or exam activity. It should become a natural part of daily life.

A child who reads regularly gains knowledge beyond textbooks and develops a lifelong learning mindset.
